Isiah Lord Thomas III (born April 30, 1961 in Chicago) is an American former professional basketball player, coach and executive who is now an analyst for the NBA on TNT. He played his entire professional career for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Playing as a point guard, he was named an All-Star 12 times, is a member of the NBA's 50 best players of the 50th anniversary and inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000.
He is considered one of the best playmakers in NBA history.
After his playing career, he was a member of the management of the Toronto Raptors, a television commentator, a member of the management of the Continental Basketball Association, coach of the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks. He then served as the men's basketball coach for the Florida International University (FIU) Panthers for three seasons, from 2009 to 2012.
