being the son of Gol D. Roger, the former king of the pirates, Ace has talent for the family business. After eating the fruit of the devil Mera Mera no Mi, ace is an interesting addition to any crew of pirates at home.

Portgas D. ace (born Gol D. ace ), known by "Ace with fiery fists" (????? ?- hiken no esu ) is the older adopted and cup of Monkey D. Luffy and Sabo. He is the only son of the deceased king of Pirates Gol D. Roger and his wife Portgas D. Rouge.

He was adopted by Monkey D. Garp at birth under the request of Gol D. Roger and raised by the Dadan family just like Luffy.

He was the commander of the second fleet of the white beard crew and he is the ex-captain of the crew of spades pirates who was integrated into the first crew.

The Impel Down arc and the Marineford arc follow the course of Luffy who came to save Ace from his execution ordered by the world government.

During these events, Ace is killed by Admiral Akainu by wanting to protect Luffy
